  • 1924 expedition was semi successful in opening the chamber, Acuna described giant mouth statue, but was beset by disaster when a lava eruption destroyed everything
  • Acuna left, Ayuers disappeared
  • Acuna is now employed by Italian Govt to plunder Ethiopian sites, trying to get to Obelisk of Axum, stymied by war
  • Mersa Fatma – CMC company used to operate train to Dallol area, stopped in recent years. salt trade no longer operational in the area

  • Ayers lives alone in the desert, a mouth manifest on his stomach, but he controls it by living in near-complete asceticism. He was a depraved Nectar addict who is trying to atone for his sins.
